"There’s nothing really I haven’t achieved. As long as I can still get excited being a rock and roll star then I’ll carry on doing it," he said.
"If I wasn’t a songwriter I’d have just quit and retired. But I can be sat at home and it drives me into the studio.
"If you put a record out you are obliged to go out and make more millions."
The full interview with Noel will be broadcast this afternoon on Virgin Radio’s Drivetime with Ben Jones between 4-8pm.
Baby on the way for Noel - Mar 8 2007
Noel Gallagher is to become a daddy again.
The Oasis star’s girlfriend Sara MacDonald is three months pregnant - and the pair couldn’t be more chuffed.
A spokeswoman for the band said: "I can confirm that Noel and Sara are expecting a baby and they are very happy."
It will be the first child for the couple but the second for Noel, who has a seven-year-old daughter, Anais, by ex-wife Meg Mathews.
Rumours of the pregnancy began when the couple attended the NME Awards last week and Sara stuck to soft drinks at the notoriously boozy bash.
The pair have been together for seven years.
Noel, 39, split from Meg in 2000 after a three-year marriage and they divorced in January 2001.
It was rumoured at the time that Meg was not happy with Noel’s desire to move to the countryside and missed partying with her friends in London.
Noel: I could be bigger than Elvis - Feb 15 2007
Oasis frontman Noel Gallagher hit out at identikit politicians as he boasted he could be "bigger than Elvis" as a solo artist.
The rocker said he didn’t expect Britain to get any better if Gordon Brown became the next Prime Minister because he was no different from David Cameron.
And he said the media had made Tony Blair into a "president", adding: "It’s no wonder he acts like one."
Interviewed by BBC Two’s Newsnight as his band received a Brit Award for its Outstanding Contribution, Noel said there was nothing left to vote for.
"David Cameron is no different from Tony Blair, and Gordon Brown is no different from David Cameron.
"So I don’t really think there’s anything left to vote for. That’s why people don’t vote."
Noel said he preferred to stay in a band rather than go solo, but left no doubt he felt he would be a great success on his own.
"Maybe for all the money in the world but you know... I wouldn’t do it by choice.
"I could do it easily but if I was a solo artist I would be the biggest solo artist in the country easy, no messing, within a year... seriously... but I prefer being in a band.
"But don’t ever think that I couldn’t do it. I could. I’d be bigger than Elvis. I would."
Noel’s bank balance boast - Jan 8 2007
It seems Noel Gallagher has spilled the beans on how much cash he earned as songwriter for Oasis.
The Mancunian musician apparently blurted out that he’s got a whopping £14 million stashed away, before hastily adding that it was a joke.
According to The Sun, Noel was asked by an interviewer whether he was getting bored of the music business.
The star reportedly replied: "Yeah. But at the last count, I’ve got 14 million quid in the bank account - that keeps me interested."
Noel, who founded the legendary British band with his brother Liam, then said: "By the way, if anyone’s reading this - particularly the Inland Revenue - I haven’t got 14 million in the bank... not in cash anyway."

In April 1984, Peggy (Noel’s mother) took her three boys and left Tommy who is an alcoholic known for his violent mood swings. Noel has not had any contact with his father since then. Noel had planned to secretly wed girlfriend Meg Matthews on Valentine’s Day in 1997, deciding a quiet wedding in the UK would be impossible, they exchanged wedding vows at the Little Chapel of The West in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA on June 5th 1997.
Their first child, a daughter named Anais, was born at London’s exclusive Portland Clinic on January 27, 2000. Noel and Meg were divorced in January 2001. Only two months after younger brother Liam announced his separation from wife Patsy Kensit, Noel announced, September 5th 2000, that he and wife Meg were going their separate ways.
It’s rumoured that Meg couldn’t stand living in the countryside and missed partying with her friends in London. Noel is now dating and living with Sara MacDonald in Marylebone. However he loves Brighton so much he has bought a home which they both spend most weekends at.
Sara works in public relations and met Noel at the Ibiza nightclub Manumission where she was working. Noel suffers from dyslexia, but succeeds at being Oasis’s songwriter and is the brains behind the group, his turbulent relationship with younger brother Liam has calmed down considerably and for the time being they can both be in the same room as each other.
