The 40-year-old admitted that she has had a busy week, which included supporting husband Keith Urban at the Country Music Awards in Nashville on Wednesday November 7.

"It was great. I had a lot of fun," Nicole said.

"I thought he played really well too. But I’m exhausted. I have a cold, and after this (premiere), I’m going to get into bed and get lots of sleep, I hope."

In Margot At The Wedding, she plays Margot Zeller, who causes chaos as she sets off on a surprise journey of her sister Pauline, played by Jennifer Jason Leigh. But Nicole, who has a younger sister in Antonia, revealed that she’s not like Margot at all.

"We are so close, we are almost like twins. We’re very supportive of each other. It’s the opposite of what this film is about," she said.

Nicole gains curves for new film - Oct 23 2007

Nicole Kidman has been piling on the pounds - but the star has denied baby rumours, revealing that it’s all in aid of her latest movie role.

Nicole, 40, has been eating four or five meals a day to put on weight for her part in The Reader, the Daily Mail reports.

The star has already gained 10 lb, and plans to double that over the course of filming to play the character of Hanna Schmitz over a period of many years.

"Nicole has said that this is one of the most challenging roles of her career," a friend apparently said.

"The part she plays demands that she gets fatter throughout the movie as her character slips into middle age."

The Aussie actress is reportedly enjoying her enhanced bosom, but is less keen on being made sleepy and lethargic by all the extra food she’s munching on.

"She has been eating about four meals a day," the insider revealed. "She has quite enjoyed putting on the first 10 lb and has been having lots of her favourite puddings as well as chocolate."

Nicole’s new film starts shooting - Oct 2 2007

Principal photography on Nicole Kidman and Ralph Fiennes’s new film The Reader has started, it has been announced.

The flick is based on the best-selling novel of the same name by Bernhard Schlink and is directed by Stephen Daldry from a screenplay written by David Hare.

The Weinstein Co feature, which will be shot in Germany and New York, is being produced by Mirage Enterprises partners Anthony Minghella and Sydney Pollack.

Set in post-war Germany, it tells the story of a man whose life has been shaped by an illicit affair with a passionate, elusive older woman during his youth.

The behind-the-scenes team includes five-time Academy Award-nominated director of photography Roger Deakins and Oscar-winning editor Claire Simpson, as well as Academy Award-winning costume designer Ann Roth.

Nicole’s upcoming films include Margot At The Wedding and The Golden Compass, alongside Daniel Craig. She is currently filming Baz Luhrmann’s Australia.

Nicole building farm? - Sept 21 2007
Nicole Kidman and her hubby Keith Urban could be swapping their glad rags for wellies, after reports that they want to build a farm.

The celebrity couple have apparently bought some land in Nashville, Tennessee, and are selling their old home for a reported 2.45 million dollars, according to E Online.

Country singer Keith’s agent, Paul Freundlich, reportedly told The Tennessean: "They have found land within Nashville, and they’re very excited about moving into their new place."

Meanwhile, Nic, 40, recently told Vanity Fair magazine that she wanted to have children and apparently said that the couple planned to buy land so they could accommodate horses and any new additions to the family.

Biography

Australian-American actress Nicole Mary Kidman was born on June 20 1967 in Hawaii.  Raised Down Under she studied at Sydney’s Australian Theatre for Young People and then at the Phillip Street Theatre before making her first on screen appearance in the music video for Pat Wilson’s Bop Girl.  By the end of 1983 she had secured roles including a supporting part in tv’s Five Mile Creek and big screen outings BMX Bandits and Bush Christmas.

Throughout the 80s Nicole picked up several parts in features as wide ranging as the soap A Country Pactrice and drama Bangkok Hilton.  However her breakthrough role came in 1989’s Dead Calm which she followed up with Days of Thunder and Far and Away.  The two films also starred Tom Cruise who she fell in love with during filming.  The pair were married in 1990 and the relationship undoubtedly helped give Nicole and extra push in to the limelight.

However 1995’s To Die For made critics sit up and take note of Nicole’s talent.  Her tongue in cheek performance proved that far from being a trophy wife she was equal if not superior in acting talent to her husband.  The pair appeared on film once more, in the controversial Eyes Wide Shut, before divorcing after ten years together.  It was revealed that Nicole was pregnant at the time of their split.  She later miscarried.  However, the couple do have two adopted children, Connor and Isabella, and remain on good terms with one another.

Following her divorce Nicole appeared to approach her work with a new enthusiasm turning out tremendous performances in The Hours (for which she won the Best Actress Oscar), Moulin Rouge and The Others which brought about rumours of professional jealousy being behind her divorce.  Further films, including Dogville, The Human Stain and Cold Mountain have been equally successful while a mistake or two was made in the comedy stakes with Bewitched and The Stepford Wives.  Nicole is currently working on Fur, The Visiting and The Lady From Shanghai.

In addition to her movie success she has also managed to hit the UK’s top chart spot too, at Christmas no less.  Following her vocals on Moulin Rouge she duetted with Robbie Williams on the, frankly not very good, Somethin’ Stupid.  And as if that wasn’t enough to keep her busy she also works tirelessly for charity which, in part, earned her Australian’s highest civilian honour, Companion of The Order of Australia.

Post Tom Nicole has been linked with Lenny Kravitz, Jude Law and Adrien Brody but in 2006 she married Aussie country star Keith Urban with whom she is rumoured to be expecting a baby.
