Meg Matthews has apparently revealed her shock at the dangers she exposed herself to as a "homeless" teenager and would be horrified if her daughter were to follow in some of her footsteps.

According to the Express, the actress feels lucky to have emerged unscathed from her experiences during the 80s.

The 41-year-old confessed: "I hitch-hiked to London when I was 17 and lived in squats in places like Brixton and Stockwell where there were loads of junkies."

The interior designer continued: "I moved from squat to squat for four years and was basically homeless. I thought it was an adventure. When I think about it I realise how dangerous it was.

"If my daughter wanted to go off and live in a squat on the Stockwell Park estate, I'd have a heart attack."

Meg, who has a seven-year-old daughter with Oasis star Noel Gallagher, is now gathering celebrity friends to trek along the Great Wall of China and raise money for Help A London Child.

The organisation aims to support young people who find themselves in similar situations.

Meg ’speeding’ claim dropped - Nov 30 2006
Allegations that Meg Mathews was driving at more than 30mph above the speed limit have been dropped.

Meg, who comes from Gimingham, Norfolk, had been accused of driving at 103mph on the A11 dual carriageway near Thetford, Norfolk, in February.

But the charges were withdrawn because a paperwork error meant that the case could not be proved, prosecutors said.

The Crown Prosecution Service said Noel Gallagher’s ex had not been sent the "appropriate form".

It was alleged that 40-year-old Meg had been snapped by a speed camera. She was due to appear before magistrates in Thetford today, and hadn’t entered any plea.

A CPS spokesman said: "In this case the appropriate form had not been served on the defendant, which meant that the case cannot be proved."

Meg, who married Noel in 1997, has a six-year-old daughter Anais with the singer. The couple divorced in 2001.

Meg Mathews has checked in to rehab for a second time, suffering from depression.  The former model left her daughter Anais with Noel Gallagher’s mum Peggy and booked herself a room at London’s Charter Nightingale Clinic.  She was treated for depression at The Priory after her split with Noel but according to friends feared that her condition would affect Anais so cut a break in Ibiza short to get herself sorted.

Meg Mathews new fiancé has been arrested for suspected robbery in Spain.

Millionaire wheeler dealer Kris Flynn was behind bars and facing extradition to Britain, where he was wanted for questioning over a foiled plot to rob a business in Cobham, Surrey.

It seems that Noel had been "very concerned" about the relationship between Meg and Kris as much as four months earlier, as she was spending a lot of time in Spain and Noel feared he wouldn’t see his daughter Anais as much if she moved there.

It has emerged that Kris was planning to fly back to Britain to turn himself into police in a bid to "wipe the slate clean". But the 31-year-old was arrested on behalf of Surrey Police before he got the chance to come home.
