Blues fans Noel and Liam are going to play a charity gig for just 5,000 people at Manchester City’s Maine Road ground before it is bulldozed. They have waived their usual £200,000 fee to raise funds for the Beating Bowel Cancer charity. A lot of the audience will be made up of cancer sufferers and sponsors, who will get to hear many of the bands hits such as Wonderwall and Don’t Look Back In Anger among others.

Tickets for the special gig are not for sale, and the football club will be moving to the City of Manchester Stadium, which was used for last year’s Commonwealth Games.

Oi - Out of my Taxi! - 17/02/03
Does everyone look for a row when they spot Liam Gallagher? The poor lad cannot even get into a taxi without being followed inside.

It seems that it can’t be easy when you want a decent night out and everyone is determined to get in a row just because you sing in Oasis. Liam has been avoiding nights out after his row in Munich where he lost hid front teeth in a scuffle with a pint glass.

But after having an evening with girlfriend Nicole - the pair got in a taxi in London’s west end and in jumped a marketing executive after them - a guy called Lennon Mortimore. Liam says that he had to ’open the taxi door and politely guide him out’ but he ’didn’t beat him up, I didn’t kick him in the face, I didn’t do anything’ contrary to Lennon saying otherwise.

But you do have to laugh at the irony of the name - exactly how many Lennon’s are there knocking about?

Yet another song for the girls - 10/02/03
Liam Gallagher has written the new Oasis single ’Songbird’ for girlfriend Nicole Appleton, surely though this is not the first time an Oasis track has been written for a girl.

Apparently this romantic gesture of Liam’s reduced Nicole to tears, something that usually only happens ’when I slice onions’ bless her.

But what with Noel unhappy to play Wonderwall (as it was written for Meg) and She’s The One (written for Sarah), then I hope Nicole and Liam stay together, otherwise Oasis may soon run dry of a repertoire.

Liam finally opens his gob - 09/12/02
Oasis kicked off their UK tour in Cardiff last night and Liam Gallagher dedicated a song to his new teeth.

The gig in Cardiff went ahead after the singer underwent extensive dental surgery to replace two front teeth knocked out in a brawl in Germany. Just before performing Live Forever, Gallagher said: "This next one is for my teeth."

The injury to his teeth seemed to have little effect on his singing performance. The band are due to play a second concert in Cardiff on Monday night (tonight).

Liam’s gob firmly shut - 04/12/02
For once Liam Gallagher’s mouth stayed firmly closed when he jetted back into Heathrow from Germany last night. The reason for his silence is that he probably didn’t want anyone to see his shattered teeth after his involvement in a fight in Munich.

Biography

Liam Gallagher was born William John Paul Gallagher in September 21, 2020 In Burnage. When Liam was a kid he was called "Peggy’s shadow" because he always clung to his mom. When Liam was around 8 years old, he said that he hated music. He would often insult people walking down the street with guitars in their hands.

This is probably because his older brother Noel was quite talented at playing the guitar and because they shared a bedroom, they often fought with each other. Liam quit school around the age of 14 and became a fence-painter. He was making about £100 a week while his former classmates stayed in school. Around the time when Liam was 19, he hooked up with an old school buddy named Paul McGuigan.

He found that Paul had a band that needed a vocalist, so he offered his services. When he joined, he changed the band’s name from "The Rain" (which was the name of a Beatles song) to "Oasis"; a name which he apparently saw on a poster in his bedroom. Liam also became the band’s song writer, along with Paul Arthurs (who was the also band’s guitarist). They only really rehearsed one day a week and didn’t get too many gigs. It was after one of their rare gigs, that Liam’s older brother Noel saw them perform. He said that their band was "utter shite" and said that he would join if he took over control of the band and wrote all of their songs. The band agreed and, well, the rest is history.
