Limelight Liam - Feb 05
Liam Gallagher is to turn his hand to acting. The Oasis frontman will be appearing in new Brit flick The Manana Man, due to go in to production this summer. Liam, unsurprisingly, plays the film’s hardman and an insider told press "It’s very gritty, a bit like Trainspotting.just the kind of thing Liam has been wanting to get his teeth in to," going on to explain that the rock star has been neglecting the music in favour of working on acting techniques.
Liam fights flab - Feb 05
Liam Gallagher has thrown himself in to a health and fitness routine. The singer is determined to get his lean look back before Oasis tour their new album later this year. Apparently Liam is feeling a little on the dumpy side after seeing pictures of himself on a family holiday splashed across the tabloids. "Years of being a dad have made it harder to keep the lean look," complained the star.
Liam boasts - Jan 05
New Oasis album is greatest album ever..again. As he gets older his head doesn’t get any smaller. Liam Gallagher, speaking at the Spongebob Squarepants premiere (he was taking his son, ok?), told waiting press that the new Oasis album, expected to be released on May 16th, contains "probably some of the best songs in the world." With songs written by both Liam and Noel, Don’t Believe The Truth will include the first single I Stand Alone, believed to be hitting the airwaves in late March.
U.G.L.Y - August 04
Liam Gallagher has been voted the 7th ugliest man on the planet.
A poll carried out by Company magazine found that while Michael Jackson was thought to be the ugliest man in the world, poor old Liam wasn’t far behind in seventh place. Even more galling must have been the fact that not only was he considered less sexy than dentally challenged Darkness singer Justin Hawkins, his brother Noel didn’t even make the top ten. Don’t worry Liam, you can take comfort in the fact that Robbie and Justin came in at the fifth and sixth spots respectively.
Oasis split? Again - April 04
Yawn. Rumours of an Oasis split are rife for what must be the 6,987th time.
And yes, it’s all down to an argument between the Gallaghers. Apparently "Noel has had enough of Liam’s antics" - the usual reason for their splitting up the band. A source close to the band told Heat magazine "if I had a pound for every time the band split, I’d be richer than Noel and Liam" . Press are adamant that the split is for good this time.please excuse us if we don’t hold our breath.
Very cosy! - 13/06/03
Liam Gallagher and his fiancé Nicole Appleton have formed a new band with her sis Natalie and her hubby Liam Howlett.
But although they have named the band NLLN (representing their initials), do not expect the loved up duo’s to be performing at a gig near you.
Nicole said ’ We did a song together called Drop The Gum. But we only do gigs at Liam’s house.
Oasis sing the blues - 21/05/03
The last band to ever play at Manchester’s City’s Maine Road football ground will be Oasis, and they are even doing it for charity.

This is probably because his older brother Noel was quite talented at playing the guitar and because they shared a bedroom, they often fought with each other. Liam quit school around the age of 14 and became a fence-painter. He was making about £100 a week while his former classmates stayed in school. Around the time when Liam was 19, he hooked up with an old school buddy named Paul McGuigan.
He found that Paul had a band that needed a vocalist, so he offered his services. When he joined, he changed the band’s name from "The Rain" (which was the name of a Beatles song) to "Oasis"; a name which he apparently saw on a poster in his bedroom. Liam also became the band’s song writer, along with Paul Arthurs (who was the also band’s guitarist). They only really rehearsed one day a week and didn’t get too many gigs. It was after one of their rare gigs, that Liam’s older brother Noel saw them perform. He said that their band was "utter shite" and said that he would join if he took over control of the band and wrote all of their songs. The band agreed and, well, the rest is history.
