Joss was saved from being shot by supernatural vibes - Sept 05
Joss Stone claims she was saved from being shot by supernatural vibes. The teenage singer has revealed she narrowly avoided being caught up the recent gunfire after the MTV Video Music Awards in Miami, where rap mogul Suge Knight was shot. Joss had been sitting near the hip-hop star with her boyfriend, Beau Dozier, when a sixth sense told her to leave. She revealed to America’s New York Daily News newspaper: "I left a few minutes before it happened. I was with my boyfriend and I told him, ’I’ve got to get out of here now. I have a bad feeling.’"
This is not the first time Joss has admitted to believing in superstition. She recently credited her superstitious dad with helping her become such a successful singer. Joss explained: "My dad told me to write down anything that you want in life, no matter how stupid it is, how ridiculous it is, and fold it up and put it behind a picture of somebody that you love. And it’s kind of working."
Joss Stone marries her boyfriend - Aug 05
Joss Stone is set to marry her boyfriend Beau Dozier. Friends say the 18-year-old soul singer has got engaged after proposing to the American musician, whose father is legendary Motown songwriter Lamont Dozier. However, the smitten couple aren’t planning to get married for another two years - because Joss wants to wait until she’s 20.
A source is quoted by Britain’s Daily Star on Sunday as saying: "It was only a matter of time before they got engaged. They’re so in love and there has been quite a lot of talk about it recently." Joss recently confessed she wanted to marry Beau, who she met after he wrote songs for her first album when she was just 16. The singer says she knew she wanted to walk down the aisle with him when he wrote a romantic line for her song ’Spoiled’. She revealed: "It was, ’I’ve never seen the word love so personified as I do with you.’ I’m like, ’I’m marrying that man right now.’ Like, wow! Such beautiful lyrics."
For some time, Joss has been wearing a ’promise’ ring Beau designed himself. She said: "It’s an American thing. I’m promised to him and he’s promised to me. Isn’t that lovely?" The ring features purple stones, diamonds and a butterfly, and Joss was thrilled when Beau gave it to her. She revealed to Britain’s Sunday Times Style magazine: "Purple is my favourite colour, I love butterflies and flowers - I’m such a girl. And he actually thought to do that. He’s a man, can you believe that? He ain’t gay, either. I was so impressed."

Rebranded as young soul diva Joss Stone the sixteen year old burst on to the scene with a reworking of The White Stripes’ Fell In Love With A Girl, earning her critical acclaim from the notoriously hard to please music press and ensuring that her debut album The Soul Sessions went top five here in the UK.
Joss’ record company wasted no time in following up her success with a hastily released second album, Mind, Body and Soul in 2004. Made up entirely of original songs the album debuted at number one in the charts, making Joss the youngest artist to reach the spot, and spawned several popular singles including You Had Me and Don’t Cha Wanna Ride?
In 2005 the singer was presented with two Brit Awards, nominated for three Grammy Awards and appeared at massive charity concert Live8 in Hyde Park…not bad going for an eighteen year old from Devon.
