The 19-year-old revealed: "Everybody has made mistakes in their lives. The song about him says everything I want to say. A lot has happened in his life and he has been through a lot. "I love my brother and I will stand by him forever." Daniel was sent to prison in 2000 after attempting to hold up a post office with a hammer. He escaped jail in 2003, just two months before he was due to be released, and went on the run before being cornered by police following a high speed car chase. He was given another prison sentence and was recently released.
Skillin, who has the same mother as Joss Stone, is thought to have encouraged his half-sister early in her career. The singer detailed her feelings in the track ’Daniel’, which includes the lines: "At times he comes across selfish. But he aint a bad person, this I know. "He lies, he cheats, his stealings make me cry till I stop breathing." Daniel is now living at the family home in Ashill, Devon.
Benefit CD to aid the victims of hurricanes Rita and Katrina - Oct 19, 2020
Coldplay, Elton John, Gwen Stefani and Barbra Streisand are among the huge acts appearing on a double-disc benefit CD to aid the victims of hurricanes Rita and Katrina. ’Hurricane Relief: Come Together Now’ will contain brand-new songs written in the wake of the killer storms. It is being released through EMI, Sony BMG, Universal, Warner and Concord labels in mid November.
The record will include live versions of Coldplay’s ’Fix You,’ Brown’s ’Try Me’ and Elton John’s ’I’m Still Standing,’ which he recorded in New Orleans. "Come Together Now", the signature track on the album, features vocals by Celine Dion, Joss Stone, Ruben Studdard, the Game, and many others.
The entire net profits of the CD will be donated to the American Red Cross, Habitat for Humanity and MusiCares Hurricane Relief Fund. New Orleans native, Harry Connick Jr, who sings "City Beneath the Sea" on the charity record said: "This CD helps us heal a place that has given so much music to the world."
Joss Stone has landed her first movie role - Oct 05
The teenage soul singer will make her acting debut alongside soccer star David Beckham in the upcoming sequel to football film ’Goal!’. The blonde beauty will play a femme fatale who tries to steal the leading man, played by Mexican heartthrob Kuno Becker, from his long-term girlfriend, played by Anna Friel.
An insider revealed to Britain’s Daily Mirror newspaper: "Joss is really pleased they’ve decided to go for her, even though she’s not a trained actress. "The role is kind of different to the way most people see her, as she’s going to have to play a bit of a bitch - that’s what she’s looking forward to most!"
Although the role may include some steamy scenes, Joss recently slammed female stars who pose semi-naked for magazines.
The soul sensation - who has refused several offers to strip for men’s magazines - says ambitious celebrities who appear topless or in bikini’s in steamy photo shoots are "disgusting" and are demeaning themselves. She said: "It’s disgusting the way these girls prance around in their
knickers on the cover of FHM. I can understand it if you’re a model, but if you’re a singer it undermines everything and suggests you’re actually rubbish at what you do".

Rebranded as young soul diva Joss Stone the sixteen year old burst on to the scene with a reworking of The White Stripes’ Fell In Love With A Girl, earning her critical acclaim from the notoriously hard to please music press and ensuring that her debut album The Soul Sessions went top five here in the UK.
Joss’ record company wasted no time in following up her success with a hastily released second album, Mind, Body and Soul in 2004. Made up entirely of original songs the album debuted at number one in the charts, making Joss the youngest artist to reach the spot, and spawned several popular singles including You Had Me and Don’t Cha Wanna Ride?
In 2005 the singer was presented with two Brit Awards, nominated for three Grammy Awards and appeared at massive charity concert Live8 in Hyde Park…not bad going for an eighteen year old from Devon.
