Girls Aloud

The Girls, who did not stop to talk to the press, will earn a smooth £250,000 each from the deal.

The contract they have signed is for one year and will see the band appearing in TV and print campaigns for Sunsilk starting at the beginning of June.

Pictures of the singers will also appear on packaging of Sunsilk products.

But if their coiffures were perfect, it seems Cheryl and Kimberley were caught short when they arrived at the photo shoot, according to The Mirror - as they climbed out of their limo, both girls had to tug their skirts down to preserve their modesty.

Girls Aloud bag £4 million deal - April 3 2007
In a deal bound to make them say something kinda "ooh", Girls Aloud are set to be the new faces of hair care brand Sunsilk.

The five-piece girl band will earn a whopping £4 million in just a year by modelling for the brand.

A Sunsilk spokesperson said: "This is the first time the girls have collectively worked with a brand and the first time Sunsilk has featured celebrities in its advertising so we’re hugely excited about the deal."

The deal means Cheryl Cole, Nadine Coyle, Sarah Harding, Nicola Roberts and Kimberley Walsh will be popping up on TV and in magazines in adverts for Sunsilk from June.

They will also appear on products like shampoo and conditioner and their tour in May will be sponsored by the brand.

The girls will take time off from tour preparation to launch the campaign in London next week.

Girls and ’Babes for Comic Relief song - Jan 12 2007
Forget Peter Kay and Matt Lucas - it seems the next official Comic Relief charity single will be a collaboration between Girls Aloud and the Sugababes

Britain’s biggest girl bands are set to record a cover of Aerosmith’s Walk This Way for Red Nose Day, according to NME.com.

And the site suggests two singles could be released in honour of the fundraising campaign.

The official websites for the Sugababes and Girls Aloud include adverts for fans to star in the video on January 18, suggesting the rumours are true.

The track was apparently produced by Dallas Austin, famous for his work with TLC, who also collaborated with the Sugababes on their 2005 album, Taller In More Ways.

Last year, the official Comic Relief single, McFly’s You’ve Got A Friend, was overshadowed by Tony Christie’s Is This The Way To Amarillo.

All proceeds from Tony’s song - supported by a hilarious video from Peter Kay - went to the charity.

This may be Peter and Matt’s intention this year with their reported cover of the Proclaimer’s I’m Gonna Be (500 Miles).

Red Nose Day is on March 16.

Girls Aloud ’blow £1m in a year’ - Dec 6 2006

According to accounts filed by the band’s company, the feisty girl group raked in £1,234,267 in a year.
