Geri: ’We’re like The Waltons’ - Dec 10 2007
Life is pretty different on tour for the Spice Girls nowadays. With four of the girls now having kids, they’re having to juggle motherhood with the demands of the road.

"It’s like the Waltons on tour," Geri Halliwell told Extra before their recent show at Los Angeles’ Staples Centre. "There is a precision of planning but we get by."

"It’s a full on circus," added Mel B, who has two daughters. "They come with us everywhere."

And Victoria is especially happy to have her family around.

"It’s so nice to have our family and our friends," she said. "All our kids have been joining in with the singing lessons. It’s just been great. I don’t think any of us could have done it if we hadn’t had our families with us as well because that’s what makes us happy."

However, Emma Bunton, who gave birth to a son, Beau, recently, is finding it more tricky to cope with her young baby.

"I’m not getting much sleep at the moment," she admitted.

Geri falls out with George? - Nov 14 2007

Geri Halliwell has apparently fallen out with her pal, George Michael.

The pair have been friends for years but have come to blows over a song the Wham! singer was supposed to be writing for the Spice Girls, says The Sun.

It seems George - whose 2004 album Patience entered the charts at No 1 - was taking too long to pen the track.

A source said: "George was more than happy to write a song.

"But Geri was frustrated how long he was taking to finish it.

"She wrote Headlines (Friendship Never Ends) with Emma instead. George was furious. He has been fed up with Geri’s ’Me, me, me’ attitude.

"She’s still really good mates with his boyfriend, Kenny Goss, who’s been acting as a go-between in their battle."

The couple have previously always been there for each other - George famously hosted a baby shower for Geri when she was pregnant with her daughter Bluebell.

Geri ’inspired’ by baby - Oct 24 2007
Geri Halliwell has revealed that she owes her latest lease of Girl Power to her daughter Bluebell.

The 35-year-old Spice Girl, who is preparing for the band’s reunion tour, had the 18-month-old baby with former partner and screenwriter Sacha Gervasi.

She told The Guardian: "I’m learning every day as a mother. I’m learning that she’s like a flower that thrives when it gets sunlight and the sunlight is confidence, and I feel that when I’m confident it gives her self-esteem. And that gives me motivation to go on and be the best."

And Geri added that she doesn’t feel at a disadvantage being a single mum.

"I’m so supported, and I’m so privileged. So many women today are single parents, I don’t feel different. I think you get out of life what you put into it... and Bluebell was a beautiful accident. I feel blessed to have her," she’s quoted as saying.

The Spice Girls are set to kick off their world tour in Canada in December.

Geri ’shocked’ by tour sell out - Oct 6 2007
Geri Halliwell has described the Spice Girls tour selling out in just 38 seconds earlier this week as "shocking".

She told GMTV: "It is kind of shocking. 38 seconds, it’s pretty amazing. I cannot quite believe it."

Biography

Born Geraldine Estelle Halliwell on 6th August 1972 in Watford, London, Geri Halliwell is best known as Ginger Spice but in fact started her career long before she joined the Spice Girls - working as a topless prize girl on Turkish TV.

In the 1990s Geri became one fifth of the worlds biggest girl band and has never looked back. Along with Mel B, Emma, Mel C and Victoria, she scored some of the biggest hits of the decade, made a feature film and raked in the cash through sponsorship deals. But in May ’98 Geri made the shock announcement that she was to leave the band to persue a solo career.

She sold her Spice clothes to raise more than $200,000 for a cancer charity, journeyed to Uganda for Comic Relief, was appointed a Goodwill Ambassador by the United Nations, and even got to sing "Happy Birthday" to the future king of England, Prince Charles.

Nearly a year after her departure from the Spice Girls, Halliwell released her debut solo album, Schizophonic, whose sound is a self-described cross between "Julie Andrews and Johnny Rotten." The album, released on Capitol Records, contained Halliwell’s first single, "Look at Me." which went to number 2 in the charts. She followed up the success of Schizophonic with Scream If You Want To Go Faster in 2001. After going solo, Geri moved to LA, formed an unlikely close relationship with George Michael and told all to the press about her eating disorders after losing an incredible amount of weight and releasing two yoga videos.

Geri is now back in the UK, working on new material and a reality TV show which will follow the format of The Osbournes. She’s also back to her old busty ginger self!
