George Michael is set to marry partner Kenny Goss - Dec 1 2005
George Michael is set to marry partner Kenny Goss - but has no plans to be faithful. The 47-year-old star and his boyfriend hope to wed early next year in a "small, private ceremony". The couple are looking forward to their upcoming nuptials but the singer hinted the usual vows may not apply. He said: "Gay relationships are a bit different. I’m sure we’ll be allowed to roam if we want to. But we love each other dearly."
The ’Fast Love’ singer was speaking at a screening of his new documentary, ’George Michael: A Different Story’. He added: "I want Kenny to have his rights just as I want mine. "It’s wonderful that gay marriages will become legal and it is long overdue."
Meanwhile, the British pop star has laughed off rumours of a Wham! comeback tour, insisting his former bandmate Andrew Ridgeley would never agree to perform again. Despite the recent reunions of fellow 80s bands, including Duran Duran and Tears For Fears, Michael insists Wham! will not be returning to the stage. He said: "Oh please... there’s nothing big planned on that just yet. "Even if I wanted to do it, Andrew would never do it. I’m afraid I can’t get into those small tennis shorts anymore."
George to tour - July 05
Following his blink-and-you’ll miss it turn singing harmonies for Paul McCartney at Live 8, George Michael has revealed that a 2006 tour is on the cards. Backstage at the event and showing no signs of the "deep-rooted unhappiness" that Elton John claims he suffers from, he told Jo Whiley that a "head cold" had prevented him from putting in a solo performance but that he is "hoping to tour next year."

George v George - Apr 05
Boy George has hit out at George Michael in his biography for taking too long to come out to the world. The Culture Club singer slammed George for keeping his sexuality a secret until 1998 - when he was caught performing a sexual act in an LA public toilet. He calls him a ’hypocrite’ in the book and also criticises the toilet incident, saying that it stereotyped gay men as rampant.
The silent treatment - Apr 05
George Michael is refusing to speak to Elton John following a very public argument. Elton is reportedly desperate to apologise to his former friend but George is ignoring his calls. "I tried to call George at Christmas to sort things out but he wouldn’t come to the phone," Elton explained, "I would like to resolve it, I’ve been in the place where George is at the moment.I’m genuinely concerned. He’s annoyed at me and I know that."
Poor Andrew!
As if being the boring one in Wham wasn’t bad enough. Andrew Ridgley was always the boring one in Wham, the one no one fancied and the one that disappeared in to obscurity and now George Michael has told the world he doesn’t find him attractive either. Speaking to press the gay singer said that sex with his ex bandmate would be ’vile’ he went on to explain "I’ve known him since he was eleven and he’s one of my best friends but luckily I’ve never fancied him." Just tell it like it is George, at least Andrew won’t mind too much - being straight and all.

Michael had hit after hit with Wham! - Club Tropicana, Wham Rap, Wake me Up Before You Go Go all remain classics, featuring on every best of the eighties compilation going. Whilst in Wham! George had solo success with one of his most famous hits, Careless Whisper.
When the mighty Wham! split in 1986 Michael found he had to prove himself to music critics who thought he was just another flash in the pan boy band reject. He did it easily with hit after hit, a duet with Aretha Franklin and a blue eyed soul boy image. In the nineties he kept the good work up, duetting with Elton John on Don’t Let the Sun Go Down On Me and in 1992 was announced to be one of the richest men in the UK thanks to incredible record sales.
But in the mid to late nineties things started to turn sour with George’s record label, Sony and despite producing one of the most successful albums of the decade with Older, he left Sony to create his own label - Aegean Records. A year later George hit the headlines after being arrested for committing ’lewd acts’ in a public toilet (you all know that story), forcing the singer to come out publicly.
Many thought it would be the end of his career, but the master of reinvention hit back with arguably his finest single to date, Outside. The video for his hit single featured the cheeky Greek dressed as a policeman gyrating about a disco-balled toilet, a great two fingers up to the press and police who had outed him. George has since played up his gayness, recently telling the world about his ’open relationship’ with boyfriend Kenny Goss and his ’Vanilla’ tastes in sex. In between revealing all he has become increasingly political, releasing slated single Freeeek!, an anti Iraq war song and using interviews to champion the causes close to his heart.
The ex Wham! star remains a force to be reckoned with even after announcing that he is bowing out of the music business to release his recordings online for free. Good news for skint George Michael fans, not so much for the industry.
