Daniel ’hammering it’ at the gym? - Sept 19 2007
Filming has started on the next James Bond outing - and it seems that Daniel Craig is keen to bulk up for the part.
The 007 actor is going to the gym regularly and drinking lots of Guinness in preparation for baring his bod to the world in the 22nd Bond movie, reports the Daily Express.
A source told the paper: "Filming has begun on the next Bond and it’s all been preliminary and filler shots. Daniel has yet to film scenes.
"He been hammering it back in the gym though. He’s really starting to get even more toned than before.
"But he’s told us he’s not a fitness freak so it’s really tough getting to the gym. The only thing that’s keeping him going, he said, is regular pints of Guinness.
"Daniel says it’s all part of his regime - and that Guinness is good for the heart."
Bond to bare all? - Sept 12 2007
Brace yourself ladies, Daniel Craig has reportedly volunteered to strip down to his birthday suit for his upcoming Bond film.
The new 007 is apparently happy to film a nude scene after impressing audiences with his honed and toned physique in Casino Royale, reports the Daily Express.
"The producers wanted to pull out even more stops on this one," an insider told the paper.
"When Daniel first agreed to be Bond he told them he has no issues with nude scenes."
The source went on: "The plan is to do that in the next film. 007 is more confident and a bit tougher round the edges after what happened to the love of his life Vesper, who drowned."
Daniel has already won hordes of female fans as a result of a beach scene in Casino Royale, which saw the hunky actor stepping out of the sea sporting a pair of tiny blue trunks.
Bond’s mate, Marmite - July 19 2007
Daniel Craig’s first attempt at acting was a far cry from his coveted Bond role, it seems.
The hunky star apparently appeared in supermarkets as Mr Marmite before he was famous, promoting the product by handing out samples of the famous spread, while wearing a funny costume.
He said the job in Sainsbury’s won him an Equity union card, which wannabe actors need to get work.
"I was Mr Marmite, that’s how I got my card. I wore a jumper at the Reading Savacentre. It’s terrible," he told The Sun.
The 39-year-old is thankfully a lover rather than a hater of the spread.
He said: "At 7.30 in the morning I find myself buttering toast with Marmite. Marmite is so great. It wakes you up."
The star, whose debut as 007 won him rave reviews, recently hinted that there will be more comedy moments in the next Bond outing.
It remains to be seen whether these will involve a Marmite jumper.
More comedy in next Bond? - July 13 2007
Daniel Craig has apparently hinted that there’ll be more comedy moments in the next Bond outing.
The 39-year-old, whose debut as the double agent won him rave reviews, said that 007 filmmakers were hoping to bring back the laughs that Roger Moore introduced to the franchise.
"They [the producers] want more gags," the Daily Express quoted him as saying. "The next one’s going to be a lot funnier. Octopussy and Pussy Galore style gags. They’re all great names - but that’s the thing, the Bond jokes will be flipped on their heads."
He also hopes to show a softer side to the character.
