The new host of Comic Relief Does Fame Academy, Claudia Winkleman, has revealed that she can’t sing a note.

And the Liquid News star is hoping that her new job will mean she’ll never have to appear as a contestant, according to Star magazine.

"I am thankful that I probably wouldn’t ever be allowed to do it as I am the presenter," she confessed. "Which is a good thing as I am not even allowed to sing Happy Birthday to my children because my singing is so terrible."

She added: "However pissed I am, I always know that it would be a bad idea for me to sing. The windows would shatter!"

And she’s preparing for quite a different experience from presenting the BBC Three coverage of Fame Academy.

"It will definitely be stricter than the the BBC Three show as people will be tuning in to watch the celebs do their live performance. No one wants to see me do a knock-knock joke."

The presenter has been presenting It Takes Two, Strictly Come Dancing’s sister show, which goes behind the scenes of the celebrity ballroom dancing challenge. Pregnant TV presenter and Notting Hill lady Claudia Winkleman is doing a charity push with a difference.

The Liquid News host is due to give birth on Red Nose Day on March 14 and has come up with the idea of a sponsored labour "in a moment of hormonal insanity"

For every hour she is in labour the more money that will be raised for Comic Relief, Winkleman has persuaded a host of celebrities to sponsor her, including Gary Lineker, Angus Deayton and Gareth Gates, who have promised £20 an hour.

This is Winkleman and hubby public relations boss Kris Thykier’s first baby.

Biography

Being the daughter of Eve Pollard (formerly the editor of the Sunday Express) and the stepdaughter of Sir Nicholas Lloyd (formerly the editor of the Daily Express) definitely has its perks - as a child Claudia played rounders with Margaret Thatcher.

After stints on Tatler, Live TV! and the odd late night chat show, her big break came when she landed a job as presenter of the Wednesday night National Lottery in 97.

She also presented the BBC Holiday programme and is now a main presenter of Liquid News a showbiz entertainment prgramme on BBC Choice. She had to see a psychiatrist for her fear of spiders. Claudia is married to PR guru Kris Thykier
