I’ll marry Church! - 26/09/03
Charlotte Church’s boyfriend says he would like to marry her, but that it might be difficult as her mum hates him.
Steven Johnson spoke to OK! Magazine, and spoke about how he would like to be married to the singer and have a big family, but there is a huge rift with Charlotte’s mother. Charlotte herself has apparently tried to bring them together, but all attempts have so far failed.
Steven said ’I just think she disliked me straight from the start. I don’t think Charlotte’s mother has sat down and given herself a chance to like me. We don’t talk. It’s really hard. It creates problems because Charlotte wants us both to speak and I’d like us to speak too. But it’s just not happening.’
Oh, Steven also wants to launch a modelling career...

Can’t shift the Church House - 01/09/03
Charlotte Church’s parents are having a hell of a time trying to shift their old house.
The luxury home has been on the market since March, when it was first quoted as ?650,000. However, after not having had any response they have now slashed the asking price to ?535,000. This may still sound a lot but it’s a whopping ?115,000 price cut!
Maria and James Church put the house on the market shortly after Charlotte packed her bags after her 17th birthday and moved in with her boyfriend. Her parents now have a bed and breakfast guesthouse in Cardiff. Charlotte herself lives in Cardiff Bay with boyf Steven.

Church film flops - 03/07/03
Cardiff girl Charlotte Church’s debut film, I’ll Be There, has bombed at the British box office.
The film has now been dropped by cinemas across the land after pulling in just ?1,039 from 21 screens in its second week of release - ?49 a screen.
Even film fans in Charlotte’s hometown of Cardiff have avoided the film, with one cinema reporting that I’ll Be There had only taken ?600 and was dropped after one week.
The low budget romantic comedy is about the daughter of a has-been rock star hoping to make it as singer.

Five years later and Charlotte was making a name for herself at local karaoke competitions, and then...
"I was watching the Richard and Judy show on TV and they said they were looking for talented kids. No-one was around so I phoned up," she says. "The producers said I had to sing down the phone. So I did ’Pie Jesu’ and that was it, I was invited on the show. Mum and Dad were the last to find out!"
This led to even more television performances, as well as high profile concerts at the London Palladium, the Royal Albert Hall and Cardiff Arms Park. "It all went a bit mad!" laughs Charlotte.
Now eighteen Charlotte has become a media icon. A ill advised relationship with ’model’ and all round bad boy Steven Johnson and on going arguments with her mother have put Charlotte very much under public scrutiny, but it has only made her more popular. Charlotte will turn her hand to anything these days, she presented Have I Got News For You? made a guest appearance on a dance track and even starred in a film, I’ll Be There. She is a chat show regular, openly voicing her opinions about fellow stars in a very down to earth way.
She may be one of the richest teenagers in the UK after coming into her fortune on her eighteenth but Charlotte Church is as normal as they come.
