So while her pal dealt with the verse, the Voice Of An Angel merely mimed and joined in during the chorus.

"Then when I got up to have another go I wasn’t allowed. My pal was shouting, ’this is Charlotte Church, she’s famous’ but the DJ wasn’t going to budge," she said.

It seems Charlotte is a bit of a fan of fellow Welsh star Tom Jones - this weekend she snapped up a £1,100 picture of the crooner in a charity auction, before giving it back to be re-auctioned.

Russell has the last laugh - Oct 4, 2020
Charlotte Church and Russell Brand took the top gongs at the Loaded Laftas Comedy Awards today.

Russell was crowned Funniest Man following the success of his cult E4 shows, Russell Brand’s Got Issues and Big Brother’s Big Mouth.

Charlotte won favourite TV Personality following the launch of her new Friday night Channel 4 show.

The Loaded Laftas Legend award went to The Royle Family star Ricky Tomlinson.

Ricky, 67, said: "I’m well chuffed. It’s gear. I’d rather get a pat on the back than a smack on the chin.

"I think it’s lovely and I’m made up. I’m quite a sex symbol as you know."

He joked of last year’s winner, Bruce Forsyth: "Well we’re very similar aren’t we?

"We’re both very very versatile, we’re both very good looking and we’re both over the age of 85. We can both sing, dance.

"But no, I feel very flattered actually to be in the same category as Bruce Forsyth, I think he’s a wonderful entertainer."

Chris Moyles, the self-styled saviour of Radio 1, won the award for the Funniest Radio Show.

Funniest Woman went to Extras star Ashley Jensen (Maggie Jacobs).

Jimmy Carr picked up this year’s award for Best Stand Up, having walked off with the title of Funniest Man last year.

Duo Justin Lee Collins and Alan Carr took Funniest TV Show for the Friday Night Project, and Funniest Double Act.

The awards, held in London restaurant Sketch, were voted for by readers of Loaded Magazine.

Charlotte’s show gets second run - Oct 3, 2020
Charlotte Church’s talk show has reportedly been commissioned for a second series in a whopping £1.2 million deal.

The Welsh warbler’s programme started strongly but the ratings slipped from 2.1 million to 1.7 million in just a few days.

She also faced a bit of a barrage in the press, with critics pointing to the curvy singer’s strong language and lack of experience on the chat show couch.

It was also noted she failed to steal much of the Friday night audience, with millions of viewers still tuning into BBC One to catch rival Jonathan Ross.

But Channel 4 bosses have apparently decided the Voice Of An Angel has earned another chance, according to a report on Digital Spy.

"We didn’t expect her to beat Jonathan Ross in her first series," said a Channel 4 source.

"But she has hosted a cracking series and has a decent share of the Friday night audience."

Biography

Born in Llandaff, Charlotte Church has loved music ever since she can remember. "When I was three-and-a-half, I sang ’Ghostbusters’ with my cousin at a seaside holiday camp in Caernarfon. When we’d finished, she left the stage, but I refused to go, they had to drag me off!"

Five years later and Charlotte was making a name for herself at local karaoke competitions, and then...

"I was watching the Richard and Judy show on TV and they said they were looking for talented kids. No-one was around so I phoned up," she says. "The producers said I had to sing down the phone. So I did ’Pie Jesu’ and that was it, I was invited on the show. Mum and Dad were the last to find out!"

This led to even more television performances, as well as high profile concerts at the London Palladium, the Royal Albert Hall and Cardiff Arms Park. "It all went a bit mad!" laughs Charlotte.

Now eighteen Charlotte has become a media icon. A ill advised relationship with ’model’ and all round bad boy Steven Johnson and on going arguments with her mother have put Charlotte very much under public scrutiny, but it has only made her more popular. Charlotte will turn her hand to anything these days, she presented Have I Got News For You? made a guest appearance on a dance track and even starred in a film, I’ll Be There. She is a chat show regular, openly voicing her opinions about fellow stars in a very down to earth way.

She may be one of the richest teenagers in the UK after coming into her fortune on her eighteenth but Charlotte Church is as normal as they come.
