Ant and Dec have had a packed schedule so far this year, first filming I’m A Celebrity for two hours a day whilst relaxing in Australia, then back to their Saturday Night Takeaway for ITV. They are keeping the summer clear for a possible US version of this hit show, and any film could only be filmed in 2005.

They may have been named Britain’s favourite TV personalities, but are Ant & Dec millionaires as well?

The Radio Times’ poll named Ant & Dec in the number one spot, with Ricky Gervais is second place and Peter Kay in third. This recognition comes after yet another poll which revealed that 70% of people asked did not know who was who!

Ant said "It helps viewers recognise us. It’s weird to realise that 70% don’t know which is which. Maybe no one cares. Fair enough."

Dec said: "It’s not cool to be popular. But who wants to be cool? I’d prefer to be popular and watched by millions rather than a select few who ’get’ it. I’ve never regarded myself as cool."

As for being millionaires, the two have denied having tons of cash, despite permanently grinning out of our TV screens.

Asked if they had made millions, Ant said: "No - I don’t know why. Perhaps we should look at our contracts. I am definitely not Roman Abramovich!"

Dec added: "We are doing all right. We are rewarded for the hard work we do. But we are not as rich as Simon Cowell."

After ten years together, it has been revealed that Declan Donnelly has split up from his long-term actress girlfriend Clare Buckfield.

Dec’s manager Paul Worsley confirmed they had broken up and said ’Dec and Clare are giving each other a wee bit of space at the moment but they remain firm friends and always will be’. He also added that there was ’no-one else involved’.

In one of the longest surviving show-business relationships - the couple met as teenage actors, when Dec was appearing in the teen drama Byker Grove. Since then Dec has gone on to one half of the most recognisable presenters around and Clare starred in 2point4children as well as touring the country in stage shows. Both are said to blame the strain of spending so much time apart working, although there have been nasty rumours cropping up of a lap dancer saying Dec took her home after spending ?800 on personal dances and Clare’s apparent involvement with blonde perennial Darren Day.

Dec’s co-presenter Ant McPartlin, who lives next door with his longterm girlfriend Lisa Armstrong, is said to be comforting the couple about the split.

According to top TV insider magazine Broadcast - Ant and Dec are the hottest talent on TV today.

Their pulling power and bankability puts them ahead of fellow presenters Davina McCall, Jonathan Ross and Graham Norton. The Pop Idol hosts have brought their Midas touch to ratings winners such as SM:tv, I’m A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here, and Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway.

Since finding fame on kids’ drama Byker Grove they have risen to become the most popular presenters on TV, scooping three prizes at the National TV Awards including a special recognition award.
