"She’s not drinking as heavily as she was then actually, but there are other problems. The other problem is the bulimia which is still apparent, although she’s put on about a stone in weight, but it’s still affecting her health. And there are problems with substance abuse as well. But it’s not as bad as has been reported."
He added: "Her family are there, the doctors are there, the facilities are there should she wish to make use of them. We’re not completely helpless, things are in position."
Amy: I’m very insecure - Oct 23 2007
Amy Winehouse has reportedly opened up about the insecurities that trigger her hellraising behaviour.
The troubled star, who was arrested in Norway last week for cannabis possession, speaks about her problems in a new DVD, the Daily Mirror reports.
In the documentary I Told You I Was Trouble, Amy confessed: "I was just doing one destructive thing after another. I was quite self-destructive.
"I always say I don’t regret things and I don’t say sorry, but I do really. I believe strongly in fate. I believe that everything happens for a reason."
The 24-year-old went on to attribute her reported problems to insecurities about her looks.
"I’m quite an insecure person," she explained. "I’m very insecure about the way I look. I mean, I’m a musician not a model. The more insecure I felt, the more I’d drink."
Amy also revealed that as a child, she never cherished any ambitions to become a singer, admitting: "I thought everybody could sing. I thought I’d be a waitress or something, or a housewife."
Amy arrested after drugs found in hotel - Oct 19 2007
Troubled singer Amy Winehouse and her husband, Blake Fielder-Civil, have been held overnight by police in Norway for drug possession, it was confirmed.
The couple were arrested with an unnamed British man at a hotel room in the southern city of Bergen, where they were found with 7g (0.25oz) of marijuana, prosecutors in the city said.
The three were held for just under 12 hours before being fined and released, prosecutor Lars Morten Lothe said.
The couple were fined 500 euros (£350) between them while the other man was made to pay £240 sterling.
Amy, 24, who was admitted to hospital earlier this year after a reported overdose of drugs and alcohol, is due to give a concert in the city tonight (Friday).
Mr Lothe said: "We had a tip from a good source which led to police checking up on the tip.
"They were in a hotel room in the centre of Bergen."
He said the 7g of the drug had been found in the room itself rather than on any of their persons.
All three were taken to a police station in the city and held until early this morning.
"They signed a ticket, a fine, at the police station some hours ago," he said.
"It is a closed case."
Amy and Pete to duet? - Oct 18 2007
Two of the music industry’s most troubled stars - Amy Winehouse and Pete Doherty - have reportedly teamed up to record a song together.
The pair, who have both reportedly spent time in rehab, now seem to be putting their troubles behind them and are concentrating on their music, reports the Daily Star.
Babyshambles guitarist Mick Whitnall, 38, is quoted as saying: "It’s a ska-type track. Amy’s playing guitar on it as well. She plays better than James Brown playing acoustic guitar."
Pete’s bandmate apparently added: "I’ve never met a man who plays like that, let alone a girl."

Amy and her brother Alex were brought up by her mum and grandmother, and fondly remembers ’Growing up in East Finchley was cool.’ She started playing guitar at 12 and listening to jazz. Her acceptance into the prestigious Sylvia Young Theatre School seemed to spell big things for Amy, although she was expelled at 15, apparently for getting her nose pierced. She carried on her studies at an all girls school in Mill Hill, which she hated as there were no fella’s there.
Amy made appearances with the Youth Jazz Orchestra, produced a demo tape of jazz covers that was picked up by Universal/Island Records, and they signed her almost immediately. She released her album Frank in October 2003 and supported Jamie Callum on his national tour. Amy then went on to be nominated for two Brit Awards, British Female Solo Artist and Best Urban Artist. Not bad for a girl of 20!
