Whether you’re visiting to discover the heart of British politics, the site of the foiled Gunpowder Plot or to see the building from the HP sauce bottle, the Houses of Parliament has plenty to offer a visitor. If you’re taking a tour of this palace of politics you can reserve in advance to enjoy afternoon tea later. There’s no chance of seeing the prime minister or any significant politicians as teas are served on Saturdays and on selected days during Parliament recess. However, you can nibble on snacks and cakes in in the elegant Terrace Pavilion with views of the Thames and the London Eye, views rarely enjoyed by the public.
