Went to a gig here the other night, a few decent bands played, they often get good bands though its wise to check in advance to see who is playing. The atmosphere at the turtle can really rock even when its not full. The bar is quiet spacious with loads of places to sit around the stage to watch the bands. The prices at the bar are average for Camden so its good place to go if your on a budget. The only real bad point though is the toilets.

The Turtle is a no-nonsense live music venue with a great stage, large dancefloor and cosy upstairs area.

You'll hear unsigned bands play during the week as well as popular indie clubs at the weekend. Always pretty busy, although numbers have dipped over the past few years due to Koko opening over the road.

Bar prices are a little too much but staff are a laugh. Check it out.

Featured ColumnistI always did like this place, in fact it was the first place i ever had a multiple screaming orgasm in but i think they've retracted many of there cocktails now rendering it just a two storey bar with the occasional dancer strutting there stuff above you as you order your drinks. Theres purple lights everywhere and the music is brilliant. Lots of seats and a pretty cheery crowd. Although perhaps there should be more space to dance in.Overall 6/10 because there prices have gone up a lot with its popularity over the years:

This is a great place. Different music nightly, great bartenders, and low cover.

They aren't free. They charge 5 to 7 pounds per night.
