On the trot between Camden Town and Chalk Farm tube stations is the Monarch, a vibrant venue which pulls crowds for specialist club nights, guest DJs and drink deals. We head on over to this venue for White Wedding Club which sees a host of people in fancy dress for the cause of the club. The venue entrance is a narrow corridor guarded by a bouncer and cashier. Once you pay to get in the corridor bends to the left, past disabled toilets into a wooden floor, bright room with cosy lounge furniture and glass doors to a garden out the back. To the left there are stairs up to the mis-shapen bar, a dance floor and another door out of the venue next to the stage. There are stairs leading up to a small second floor and further toilets. The bar staff vary from the experienced to the outright clueless (i get asked what i want to drink by the same bar man 3 times after he sees me being served by anther when the place is half empty)

Overall the Monarch is a light hearted, average drink price venue which is worth visiting on club nights as long as things don’t get over sold like our White Wedding club did.

I went in before a gig at The Roundhouse a while ago and after reading these reviews I can only guess something big has changed. Really nice atmosphere - not overly busy but fair few groups of people. Bar staff seemed to be having a good time too - which is nice to see rather than just your typical grumpy faces! We were in quite a big group and it was a bit difficult to find a space at first but managed to get some comfy chairs to sit in. Looked like it had it's own live music later but can't comment on that. Prices were good too.
Only thing I'd complain about is the carpet. It's a bit weird.

Nice place with great potential if it were a little more full.

I never thought I would find a worse pub than the Boston until I went to this place. Pints tasted like they were watered down and the worsst atmosphere ever.
