London: 50% affordable homes?

Business group London First are deeply
concerned by a proposed 50% quota of affordable homes for new developments
in the capital. The proposal
is being considered by Mayor Ken Livingstone who is keen to expand
the supply of housing in London for people on low to moderate incomes.
Mr Livingstone commissioned a study on the provision of affordable
homes from Nottingham Trent University and consultants Three Dragons.

estimated to have a personal worth of £200m, has been released on
bail after being questioned by police about a murder that occurred
two years ago in South London. Scotland Yard said a 58-year-old
man from Framfield, in East Sussex, had been held in connection
with the murder of Mohammed Raja, who was shot dead outside his
home in Sutton, south London, on July 2nd 1999.
