on 10th November ...
"Nice ambience but frankly useless staff who obviously consider themselves far too cool to do anything as mundane as serving customers. And when they finally do so, they serve with a degree of surly aggression that would make a Brezhnev-era politburo member proud."

John Larnach said on 24th September ... "Waited some 5 minutes to be served as the 3 staff were more interested in speaking to each other...
The wait for food was 35 minutes when promoised 15 minutes then when served it was cold. This was a quiet sunday afternoon so no excuses"

Charlotte Schroder said on 09th August ... "Nice atmosphere, I like the big windows and the little personal touches made to the decor. The garden is the best thing about this place though."

Sam Hollywell said on 03rd August ... "if only the sun was out more often...I'd probably become an alcoholic if I could stay in their garden for as long as I pleased!"

Rob Carver said on 31st July ... "The Abbey is like a little hidden secret in Camden. While most pubs in Camden aim at being edgy, The Abbey is quite happy to be understated. Don't let this fool you though, this is a great little place with very nice outside space, tasty food and a celeb or two (patrick wolf had his birthday bash here and Pete Doherty was spotted chatting up one of the waitresses).
If you need a place to wind down after a busy day at the market, this is a good option!"

Nicky Holden said on 22nd July ... "I guess the reviews below were written a while ago as it sounds like a different pub from the one I know. I think it's been under new management for a few months, which might explain the differences.
The beer garden and roof terrace are still there, but the sporty side has gone. What you get instead is a relaxing pub that serves lovely jamaican food (lots of veggie options too), they have bands on on some days, DJs at the weekend, and different rooms/areas that you can book for parties...
I'm not sure the beer selection is the same as it was before as I personally drink wine, but overall I like this pub, especially on a sunny day when you can just enjoy the garden!!"

Camden said on 24th November ... "Nice pub with large garden but the music is always too loud and the speakers can't handle the highs so it hurts your ears. Nice toilets."

Damian Urwin said on 24th March ... ""After only having visited the place once, I can certainly say that I will be returning with as much anticipation as the first time. Having only sampled Kronenbourg White Beer, I am keen to explore other refreshments such as varied selection of wines and other ales available on draught and by the bottle.
Food is particularly pleasing with the "Abbey" burger certainly filing a hole and the chips crunch in one's mouth almost crisp like. Just to let you know, do not expect a McDonald's like meal at this place. TV shows sports fixtures but this does not mean that this is your usual "football" style pub.
Far from it by any means. Bar is decorated in modern yet stylish furniture and the service is of good standard as well as pleasing to the eye! A restaurant area is located towards the back which I have yet to divulge in but I believe a return visit is almost due.""

James Strang said on 24th March ... "" I went to the abbey on a Sunday night and had a great time. The food is very good, the beer garden is one of the best i have seen in London but most of all the music was brillant.""
